About The Little BlueStem Bakery

I love being a baker. It is great to go to work in the morning and make good food for people to eat.

I have worked in restaurants and bakeries my entire adult life. From the first job I got in a hamburger place in high school, I just felt like I belonged. I did go to cooking school just before I turned thirty, thinking I would learn more and could make more money at it. I learned some things, I never really made any more money at it. That is not why people are in the food business. I also found out I already knew how to make the best food you can make. I had worked at many Austin institutions when they first opened like Kerbey Lane Cafe and Wheatsville and Texas French Bread.

I met the love of my life and we have two beautiful kids. We followed our dream and moved to this glorious small farm ten years ago. I have been making breads from my little bakery here about four years. I hope you will give the bread a try. It is a true privilege and a real pleasure to make it for you.
